Survey

Our team made a survey about the institutions´s impact on poverty all around the world. The survey was given to teenagers aging around 18 and 23 years old who are still attending college. We asked seven questions regarding name, gender, major and questions related to the main topic: Poverty.

Gender

15 people participated in the survey. 60% percent of the surveyed were females, while the 40% left were men. This question was made so we know the ideology difference between both genders. As it is shown in Figure 1.

Major

People from different majors was surveyed. These majors included: engineering, accountability, international relations, business, graphic design, computer science and criminal.

Poverty description

The first question related to our main topic was to define what is poverty on their own words. The objective of this question was to know their perspective, as well as their knowledge regarding poverty.

We realized that the majority of the people surveyed think the word poverty is related to the lack of economic resources.

Institutions against poverty

As it is showed on the Figure 2, the majority of the people surveyed (60%) knows at least one institution against poverty.

We asked about institutions they know; the most recognized institutions named by the surveyed were: UNICEF, ONU, and SEDESOL, others mentions were: CNDH and FMI.

Being a member of institutions

26.7% of the people surveyed said they would like to be part of an institution fighting against poverty. The other 73% left was undecided about their decision. As it is showed on the Figure 3, none of them refused to the idea of being part of one of these institutions.

Knowledge about in your country

The last question made was to know their knowledge about poverty in their own country. The majority said that it is a serious issue nowadays and a great deal of mexicans are suffering from it.

We noticed a really interesting answer which is :

Hay muchos niños y jóvenes en situación de pobreza. Podría asegurar que alrededor del 40% si no es que más y seguro más del 20% en pobreza extrema a causa del desempleo, falta de estudios, falta de apoyo, etc.
